Trained personnel are available to help answer billing questions in a friendly and efficient manner. HMU strives to provide customers the highest quality of service with the lowest rates possible. Telephone, Cable TV and Internet are billed separate from other utility services and include all local telephone service charges, HMU long distance charges, monthly feature charges, cable TV services, Pay Per View movies purchased and Internet service. Telephone, Cable TV and Internet services are based on monthly fees per established rate schedules or cost per Pay Per View movie or event. Telecom monthly fees are billed in advance just like a rent or insurance payments. You're paying for 'future use'. Long distance and Pay Per View Movies are billed after you've received the service. When you establish new service with HMU, your first payment may seem higher than normal. The first bill generally includes a pro-rated amount for the first partial month of service and the full cost of the next month. Your next bill will only be for the upcoming month of service and should be lower. Questions related to billing usage or charges can be directed to the HMU Customer Service Department or call (712) 755-5182. Click here for information on Electric, Gas and Water billing.
HMU's Auto Pay Plan eliminates the need to write a check and assures payment dates are met. With Auto Pay, bill amounts are automatically deducted on or before the due date each month. Auto Pay customers still receive a monthly statement from HMU and their bank statements shows the payment deductions. Customers interested in this free service complete an authorization form available from the HMU Customer Service Department. Click here to learn more about Auto Pay. Telecom payments may be made at the following places:
IMPORTANT: Payment stations are a convenient way to drop off your utility and Telecommunication payments. Payment stations do not post your payments. Payments are posted to your account only when we physically receive them in our office. It may be several days between the time you drop off a payment at any of the above locations and it is received at our office. Please make allowances for this time lag if you drop off a payment on or near the due date at any location other than the HMU offices. Dropping off your payment at a payment station instead of at the HMU offices may result in you receiving an overdue notice due to this time lag. HMU Customer Service Department Personnel will consult with customers who may find it difficult at times to pay their telephone, cable TV or Internet bills. This service may include referrals to local agencies that provide assistance to meet emergency situations. HMU will, in most cases, provide payment agreement options to help customers during financially difficult periods. LINK-UP or Lifeline assistance is available to qualified customers.
